Quantum Summer Academy for High School Teachers and Students
High school students: Do you want to learn more about quantum technologies and future careers here in Montana?
Teachers: Do you have students interested in science and math?
The Science Math Resource Center is excited to host a 4-day Student and Teacher Quantum Summer Academy at MSU Bozeman June 17-21, 2025.
This unique experience is designed to provide both high school teachers AND their students an opportunity to learn aboutquantum and related technologies here at MSU and introduce companies that are engaged in this work across Montana.Teachers will also learn about how to teach quantum topics in their science, engineering, or computer science courses.
This is an overnight experience in which you will stay on campus in the residence halls and experience fun evening events that include quantum-related field trips and movies. We are hopeful that teams of grades 9-12students and teachers can attend together sothat the topics explored during the camps can continue to be discussed throughout the school year. Our goal is that this work could fuel potential science fair or similar research projects for both students and teachers!
If you would like to attend as an educator without students, or a student without an educator, please still apply!
We aim to work with rural students and teachers, or those who are in underserved communities. As such, we will pay for all travel, food, and lodging as well as a stipend for teachers who complete the immersion experience. Attendance will be limited to 10 teachers and 15 students.
The deadline to apply is February 28, 2025, and we will inform you of acceptance decisions by the end of March 2025. Our selection criteria will prioritize teams of students and teachers from rural or underserved areas; however, all are welcome to apply.
